Axum Meskel (Unisex)
This Meskel is specific to the city of Axum. Meskels are a symbol of Christianity in Ethiopia and Eritrea. The adoption of Christianity in Ethiopia dates to the fourth-century reign of the Aksumite emperor Ezana.
Ethiopian crosses are almost always made from elaborate latticework, the intertwined lattice represents everlasting life. At each angle of a traditional Coptic Cross are three points, representing the Trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
